I got an unexpected outcome when I sawed through the mother trunk today. As the chainsaw broke through, the stump jumped up about three feet and the trunk just laid there. A lot of stored energy just waiting to be released…ya never know.

I got an unexpected outcome when I sawed through the mother trunk today. As the chainsaw broke through, the stump jumped up about three feet and the trunk just laid there. A lot of stored energy just waiting to be released…ya never know. […] And then there were two trunks. I Can’t say it’s been easy, but it has been fun. I mean so far… For those keeping track, we’re having fun and making progress whittling away at the maple tree project. The task unseen though is regarding the main trunk which is about 3 feet in diameter and largely submerged all the way across the pond. We’re still thinking about that part… […] Baseball today – woodlands style using the slingshot water balloon launcher. You must look closely to see the balloon in flight. At first you wonder what it is and then it hits you… Also, they’re using my heirloom, ‘Roger Maris’ little league bat! […] I shimmy up the tree trunks with a chainsaw and trim off the side branches. They drop into the pond. She kayaks out and wrangles them. I pull them to shore and process them. Our doctors ask, ‘what do you do for exercise,’ We say, ‘it’s hard to explain…’ Work is play. […] We call it the limousine tour of the woodlands trails. It’s very popular… The old ATV went down in a blaze of glory, but the new est arrivé! And, we’re back… Quiet dinner here in the woodlands until the hundred-year-old cluster of silver maple trees decided to collapse over the pond… Quite an event, long awaited. Pity the fools that don’t have a sail on their kayaks… For my birthday, I got a sail for my old kayak! First time out, still developing technique, but I love it. It combines two of the things I enjoy the most – sailing, and not paddling… |
