No progress today. We’re taking the day off for a cowboy/cowgirl cookout and making up names. Henry is Buck Henry, Lloyd is Lobo Lloyd, Kylie is Shy Ann, Parker is Pardner.

It was well worth the holiday premium to bring in a special artisan to mask off the transom-to-hull joints before we fill them with epoxy. We’re making progress…

We’ve sewed on the last of the side boards. The walls are up! We started a tradition here in the Woodlands with the log cabin project. When the walls are up, we celebrate. And that means ice cream! Chocolate chip mint this time.

No boat building this week! Time out for a boat ride back and forth on the inland sea – time to party with the cousins on that distant shore.

The boat is getting too tall for our crew ergonomics, so we’ve lowered it from saw horses to grape crates from the winery. We don’t want any trouble with OSHA. By the way, the crew made a lot of progress today.

We’re back at work drilling and sewing, and the boat is starting to look a little boatie. We’re inspired to think up names. So far we’ve got Pramosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, Boatie McBoatface, and Lloyd came up with ‘Sea-King’ and I kinda like that one if we spell it ‘Seeking.’

Work is underway! Today we’re cutting wire and drilling holes. Lloyd prefers a lithium-ion power drill but is doing fine with a 4th generation hand-me-down hand drill.
