I couldn’t wait any longer, I had to rip into the monster black locust log today. It’s a flawless thing of beauty. On with the sawing and sawdust season. Our woodlands sea turtle looks so forlorn. We’re all ready for the thaw. We teamed up on Black Friday to harvest a black locust log that was lying in the woodlands, and we lugged it up to the sawmill. What a lug it was; 1,320 pounds! A perfect day for another cleaning of the wood stove chimney, always a team effort. It’s a process, one that we’ve got down to a science. We just completed a loop of Lake Michigan. First stop, an important birthday celebration in Kenosha with homemade cupcakes and lots of gifts. Then a nod to the iconic city velodrome on the way north out of town. […] After the eclipse our woodlands mink showed up to check out the pond. Coincidence? We have completed the bass guitar project! Lloyd and I learned a lot as we got into it and we’re proud of our work. I have to say it came out pretty pretty good. I made a little woodlands style hut for our standby generator. Hopefully this means we will never need to use the thing again. Yeah right. Lloyd and I are building an electric bass guitar. The current step is to paint the body. However, spraying lacquer requires a well-ventilated warm area. Outside is the high recommendation. But it’s the dead of winter here. What to do?
