We got distracted by the end-grain of the silver maple logs. It’s art to us and we decided to make a batch of wood cookies. It’s a slow process the way we do it. The cookies get submerged in a solution of polyethylene glycol for months to displace water. Then they get air-dried crack free. It works. The clock in the sawmill was made that way, been here now more than a decade…
