Tuba!

Here’s an unusual piece from my lathe. I turned a quarter sawn block of black locust into a mouthpiece for our grandson’s tuba, thereby converting the tuba into a woodwind in a way. And to my surprise, it works. He reports the tone is softened and improved. He may have to move from band to orchestra now…
