Post and Beam Project Update – Short handed today as Thing One is at the big scout camp. But Thing Two is hard at it. We completed the posts needed for the shed and now we’re sealing the end grain.
After lugging these posts around, I decided to weigh one using the grandkid scale in the mill. The posts weigh exactly the same as Henry, 77lbs.! In a past life, I knew a Henry as a measure of electrical inductance, but now I’m counting it as a unit of timber weight…
Also, we’re sawing the first 4 X 6 cross beam. We switched to solid black cherry. We use what we’ve got.
